Chile has a big problem with fires. Two areas have a "state of catastrophe." This is because of very bad wildfires. The fires have caused people to die. Many people have lost their homes. President Gabriel Boric said this. He sent soldiers to help. The army will help the busy workers.
The Ñuble and Biobío areas are worst. These are south of Santiago city. They have nice forests and people live there. The catastrophe helps leaders get more power. They can use more help. This will bring aid to people faster.
Sadly, 18 people have died. More people might die. Over 50,000 people left their homes. They are running from the fires. About 250 houses are gone.
The fires are happening in hot weather. It is very hot, up to 38 degrees. Wind also makes the fires bigger. Firefighters are working hard. Dry forests burn fast. It is hard to stop the fires.
