Famagusta Gate Opens Again

The Famagusta Gate in Cyprus is open now. It was closed for seven years. This is good for the city's history. The gate is a nice old building. It will be used for fun events.

The gate closed in 2018. Water hurt it. Work to fix it began in 2019. It cost a lot of money. Workers fixed old stones and wood. They put in new lights. They also added air conditioning.

The gate is very old. It was built for defence. Later, it was a place for culture. New work found old parts. These help us learn about the past.

Important people came to the opening. They said the work saved history. They said it links the past to today. They want it to be a place for everyone.

The gate will have events soon. Then, it will be a place for art and talks. This shows the city loves its history. It also looks to the future.
