EU Leader Faces Big Vote Monday

Ursula von der Leyen has a new problem. A Member of Parliament, Geadis Geadi, wants a no-confidence vote. This vote will be on Monday.

Many people do not like the EU-Mercosur trade deal. Von der Leyen wants to finish this deal on Saturday. This is the fourth challenge to her job in six months. It shows big problems in the Parliament about trade.

109 Members of Parliament support the vote. They say von der Leyen did not handle trade talks well. They think the Commission did not listen to parliaments and farmers.

Farmers are worried. They think the deal is not fair for them. It could hurt farmers and small shops. They also worry about food safety. Farmer groups are protesting.

This is not the first no-confidence vote. Past votes did not work. But these new votes show people are still unhappy. Trade and farming cause big arguments.

Monday's vote is important. It will show worries about EU trade plans. It may also change the EU-Mercosur deal. The EU might need to think again about trade.
