Peace Hopes Fade in Gaza

Peace in Gaza is hard to find. Israeli soldiers are still fighting there. The United States has a new plan for a ceasefire. But many Palestinians are not happy. They fear life will not get better. They worry the fighting will not stop.

On Thursday, bombs from Israel killed ten people. Six people died in Deir el-Balah. A 16-year-old boy was one of them. Other attacks also killed people. One person was shot. Another died at a police post. A house was bombed. Two people died there. Many civilians have died since fighting started.

The United States is talking about a ceasefire plan. This plan is to stop fighting Hamas. But what comes next is not clear. Israel will decide the details. This makes Palestinians unsure. They think Israel wants to be in charge.

Hamas said the house bombing was bad. They said Prime Minister Netanyahu does not want peace. Israel said one dead person was a Hamas leader. They said this made their actions okay. This is a hard problem. Israel seems to want its own way.

Many people have died. Over 451 Palestinians have died. Over 100 children are among them. Palestinians want the bombing to stop. They want help to come into Gaza. Israel told people to leave their homes. Soldiers are still there.

The US plan has a new Palestinian government. An international group will watch it. This could be good. But people in Gaza do not believe it. The fighting and Israel's plans make hope small. More fighting may happen. Peace in Gaza is not likely now.
