There is a big problem in Cyprus. The forests in Cyprus are very dry. There is no rain for many years. The trees do not have enough water. Many trees are dying.
This is happening all over the island. Even very old trees are dying. In one famous forest, two out of five trees are dead. Other forests have the same problem.
The trees are very thirsty. Young trees die very fast. Big, old trees are also dying now. The rivers and springs are dry too. The animals have no water to drink.
Everyone hopes for rain next winter. If there is no rain, more forests will die. This is very bad for Cyprus.
