Flamingos in Cyprus

Flamingos come to Cyprus every year. They come to the lakes for the winter. But now, there is a problem. There are fewer flamingos now.

People watch the flamingos for many years. They see the number go down. The number is 14 to 31 percent lower now.

The flamingos need good water and food. But there is less good water now. There is less food for the birds. New buildings are also a problem.

Now, there is a new plan. It is a ten-year plan. People want to help the flamingos. They want to learn more. They want to make the lakes safe for the birds. This is important for Cyprus.
