Soldiers try to take power in Benin

Some soldiers in Benin try to take control on Sunday. They go to the TV station. They say the government is finished.

But other soldiers in Benin are loyal. They fight back. Soldiers from Nigeria come to help. They use planes and soldiers on the ground.

Other countries in West Africa also send help quickly. They want the government to stay.

By the evening, the president is back on TV. He says the government is in control again. He says some people are hurt. He says the soldiers who tried to take power will be punished.

This shows that peace in West Africa is not always strong.
