Cyprus Needs More Water

Cyprus has a big problem. There is not enough water. It is very dry. The year 2025 will be very dry.

The government has a new plan. They want to take salt out of sea water. This is called desalination. They will build seven new places for this. They will use more than 200 million euros.

The water is for people and for farms. They also want to fix old water pipes.

Some people worry. They say the salt from the process is bad for the sea and fish. The government says they will be careful.

Cyprus needs this water for the future.
